In 2016, ECHO was delighted to be selected by Kent law firm Whitehead Monckton as their Charity of the Year – in a 2-year partnership.

During this time Whitehead Monckton has offered a huge amount of support to ECHO, through encouraging its staff to raise thousands of pounds in a variety of different ways, as well as providing volunteers and also offering some legal advice at a reduced cost to ECHO members.

The team at Whitehead Monckton have taken part in cycling and running challenges, as well as hosting golf days and quiz nights to raise funds for ECHO – in total the firm donated over £5,000 last year to support heart children and their families.

One special project Whitehead Monckton has been an integral part of is the renovation of the Parent’s Room on Savannah Ward – the cardiac care ward at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. In early 2017, ECHO ran a new campaign – #ImproveOurRooms – to raise money to redecorate the parent’s room, following requests by both families on the ward and also nursing staff. We were absolutely delighted when Whitehead Monckton Charitable Foundation promised to pledge £1,700 towards this renovation project – an amazing amount that ensured we were able to deliver a fantastic new room for families. In addition to donating all-important funds the firm also provided volunteers to help carry out the actual work!

The ongoing help and support Whitehead Monckton has given to ECHO has been outstanding, they have helped us to make direct positive changes to the lives of heart families and we are grateful for their commitment.
