I’ve been a volunteer with ECHO for 4 years and have loved every minute! The charity has been such a fantastic support to my sister and her family and it’s just nice to feel that I can give something back.

I’ve helped with lots of different things including cake sales, stuffing envelopes, collecting money at events, a fundraising abseil (still makes me sick thinking about it!) and helping to buy and wrap hundreds of gifts at Christmas – I’m most famous for being one of Santa’s elves! I especially love the Christmas party, seeing all the familiar faces and being remembered by the families themselves.

Being a volunteer, you’re made to feel part of the ECHO family. You get lots of support from other volunteers and have a main point of contact, so you always have someone to approach with questions and queries. Everyone at ECHO makes you feel welcome and valued.
