Every year the Brace family get a team of family, friends and contacts to run the Milton Keynes Half Marathon/Marathon, in memory of the very special Marnie Brace who was born with a severe heart condition and sadly lost her fight at just 5 months old.
At ECHO, Marnie Brace will be in our thoughts always. The Brace family raised awareness of organ donation whist Marnie waited for a heart she so desperately needed, and continue to make sure that Marnie is remembered in so many ways, while selflessly supporting ECHO and other heart families.
Read their story below, and please consider sponsoring team Marnie-Moo as the team of over 50 people take on the race in 2019 on May 6th!
Team Marnie-Moo is a very special team of runners, all driven by the memory of a very special, beautiful and strong little lady called Marnie. In 2019 we will also be running for our Coby who has Neuroblastoma, he is a very strong little dude and currently doing well.
Marnie Brace was born with a heart condition called hypotrophic cardiomyopathy and Noonans Syndrome. She fought very hard, whilst being the drive behind a significant campaign for Organ Donation. Marnie lost her fight at a mere 5 months old.
Daddy Nick, Mummy Amy, big brother Jonah and little brother Coby have vowed to keep her legacy going by giving back to those that supported them so tremendously during their stay in hospital.
The Brace family are a very lucky family to have such wonderful friends and family, many of them have joined them in their efforts to keep Marnie’s legacy going. Marnie really did have such a big impact on everyone she came across.
So ‘Team Marnie-Moo’ Was born in 2017 thanks to ‘Uncle Ali and this team has grown!
Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund. This charity has been going since 1992 and helps to make a positive influence on the children diagnosed with cancer. No charity has done more for the Brace family and Coby than Lennox and Vicky and others at the charity are like family.
ECHO, the Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation. A very special charity that help families with children who suffer from a range of cardiac conditions. They support children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who have been treated by Evelina Children’s Hospital networks. ECHO is regarded by many as a second family and for the Brace family this couldn’t be more true.
Please help support ‘Team Marnie-Moo’ in their fundraising. The team will complete Milton Keynes Half Marathon/Marathon on 6th May 2019 in all colours of the rainbow, we currently have 50 runners keen to get to the start line!
There is also a ‘Mini’ Team Marnie-Moo, a cohort of little runners completing the Superhero Fun Run which is a 1.5 mile race in Superhero fancy dress!
