ECHO is pleased to announce that we have reached in the customer vote for a Bags of Help grant from Tesco – and now we need your help.

If ECHO receives the most in-store votes at selected stores in the South London area, this grant would help us to provide arts and crafts to children with heart conditions in hospital and their siblings. 

What is Bags of Help? 

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme Bags of Help which gives community projects grants of up to £1,500, £1,000 and £500. ECHO has been chosen as one of the three charities in the local area who will receive a grant and it is now down to the public to decide who should receive the most funding. 

Voting will commence the first week of April 2022 and continue until 30th June 2022 across a number of stores in South London. The prize for first place will be a grant of £1,500, for second place £1,000 and third place £500. 

How will your vote help ECHO? 

The more votes we get, the more funding we will receive for Arts, Crafts & Activities for children with heart conditions and their siblings in hospital to help children battle the boredom and isolation from being separated from family members whilst in hospital. We work with the cardiac teams to ensure that children on the ward and visiting siblings have access to arts and crafts to reduce anxiety and encourage siblings to do something together whilst at the hospital and when unwell in the community. We also want parents who are going through a stressful time to have something practical to do, encouraging good mental health. 

How to vote: 

To vote for ECHO and help us to continue to provide vital sibling support all you need to do is make a purchase of any value at any participating Tesco store. You do not need to purchase a carrier bag to receive a token. You will receive one token per transaction which you can then use to vote for either ECHO or one of the other two charities.
