ECHO understands the importance of children and young people being able to use the internet for education and personal development. This includes social media platforms and video call platforms such as Zoom. We aim to support children and young people in making use of these in our work. However, we also recognise that safeguards need to be in place to ensure children are always kept safe.
This agreement is part of our overarching code of behaviour and online safety policy for children and young people, ECHO staff and volunteers.

I agree that:
I will be responsible for my behaviour when engaging as part of the ECHO Teen Hub. This includes the resources and content I share / access and the language I use.

I will not send anyone material that could be considered threatening, bullying, offensive or illegal.
I will not give out any personal information online, such as my name, phone number or address.
I will ensure that when I join an ECHO Teen Hub video call, those I live with or are near to when I am on the call (e.g. your parents, carers and siblings) are aware that they could be on camera and that I am aware of what is going on around me is appropriate to be shared.
As much as possible, I will find a quiet space when joining online video events and use earphones/headphones for extra audio quality.
I will ensure the clothing I am wearing is appropriate at all times.
I will not reveal the Zoom password or meeting ID for any online ECHO Teen Hub group meetings.
I will respect the group’s privacy and I will not share content related to this group on my personal social media accounts or on any other platform, without consent of the whole group.
I will not reveal my personal passwords to anyone.
I will not arrange a face-to-face meeting with someone I meet online unless I have discussed this with my parents and/or group leader and am accompanied by a trusted adult.
If I am concerned or upset about anything I see on the internet or any messages that I receive, I know I can talk to the group leader.
If I think that I see someone being bullied online, I will report it to the group leader.
I understand that my behaviour during any ECHO Teen Hub online meetings or evens will be monitored and logged by the ECHO group leader. I understand that these rules are designed to keep me safe and that if I choose not to follow them, ECHO may contact my parents/carers and I may be asked to leave the group.
