We are delighted to invite ECHO members to join us a fully funded free adventure day to be held Saturday 8th June at Stubbers Adventure Centre, Essex. We have 200 places available for this friendly day, all we ask is that you are an ECHO member and that you bring a picnic lunch – everything else is provided.
Aims:
Give families a chance to spend time together away from the hospital, where they meet other families affected by similar lived experiences without having to worry about planning or paying. We will provide a fun, supportive and relaxing space where parents, carers and patients can meet and share stories, provide opportunities to take part in physical and well-being activities at their leisure and ensure these are inclusive. Families can participate in as much or as little as they want, and we encourage and support those who might need additional help. We will also provide opportunities for members to have their say in our charity.
Outcomes:
Key areas we will explore – challenges of daily life, members experiences – accessing health and care services, how ECHO can support in the hospital and community, transition, physical activity, mental health and wellbeing.
This is a free event. Families will need to bring a packed lunch with them for lunchtime but ECHO will provide a family BBQ & Party to celebrate the end of our 40th year.
The activities have been chosen by our youth leaders for the day and the activities might include Bell Boats (teams take to the water paddling 10 seater catamaran canoes, Laser Combat (all the fun of paintball without the pain or splatter!, Towers (Towers Zone is based around a wooden 10m climbing and abseil tower and brick and concrete realistic rock experience) , Team Games.
