Thursday afternoons, 2:00–4:30pm

What the role involves

• Representing ECHO with warmth and professionalism for families on the ward.
• Offering refreshments and a friendly chat, listening to parents and family members.
• Providing emotional support, practical information, guidance, and signposting to further ECHO resources when needed.
• Stocking and replenishing the weekly Tea Trolley at the ECHO office before and after visits.
• Providing a friendly face to patients, parents, carers and NHS staff
• Refering families to ECHO for further follow-up support.

Requirements of role

This application process can take 6-8 weeks

• Full DBS check.
• Compliance with volunteer application procedures set by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust.
• Completion of the full ECHO hospital volunteer induction, including training sessions and practical ward experience with ECHO staff and experienced volunteers.

Please note: This role can be physically demanding, as it involves pushing the Tea Trolley around the ward and setting up supplies
