We Care, You Matter: ECHO Wellbeing Day
- 26th October 2019
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
ECHO’s Wellbeing days to support carers and children at all stages of the Congenital Heart Disease Journey.
Saturday 8th June: London session 10-4 pm at Waterloo Action Centre, 14 Baylis Road, London SE1 7AA
Saturday 26th October: Kent session 10-4pm at Kent Life Farm, Lock Lane, Sandling, Maidstone ME14 3AU
The ECHO Wellbeing Day is orientated to any ECHO member who has or is experiencing emotional challenges – or for those who maybe just fancy exploring the idea of wellbeing and how learning about this can benefit you, if you are a parent/carer or sibling aged 18 plus of a child with a heart condition or a bereaved parent/carer or sibling this will be a day to explore your own wellbeing and learn essential lifesaving skills through an introduction to emergency first aid for babies and children.
Our Wellbeing Days are a great boost to morale and embrace the core values of ECHO – we want to give parents and carers time for themselves – we care about your wellbeing.
Each day includes a host of complementary therapies that might include seated chair massage, beauty treatments, relaxation techniques, and certificated wellbeing and first aid parent and child taster sessions.
You will be given a certificate of attendance for the first aid and wellbeing sessions and we welcome your children on the day too- we will make sure there are some fun activities for them to get involved with.
It can be easy to forget about our own health and wellbeing. A positive attitude and a good social outlook encourages us all to have a healthy lifestyle. ECHO’s Wellbeing Days encourages us to spend time focusing on our own needs as well as providing an opportunity to meet others from the ECHO heart community.
Sometimes it can be a bit daunting when meeting a group of complete strangers, but it can be an easy way to meet new people and make friends, after all, you all have something in common – ECHO. You will have an opportunity to meet ECHO staff and volunteers, ECHO’s CEO Samantha Johnson and Debbie Howe, ECHO’s counsellor who will be around on the day and looks forward to meeting you.
Other info: We will not provide child care but will have children’s activities and volunteers on the day to help ensure the whole family can make the most of this fun day. ECHO will provide some refreshments but ask you to bring a packed lunch along. We hope to see as many of you there as possible!
