Hi ECHO Teens!

Join us for an interactive online workshop designed for ECHO members aged 12–17. This fun, quiz-style event will give younger members their first introduction to transition, while supporting those preparing for it soon by tackling common myths and worries about moving from children’s to adult heart services. There will also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and hear reassurance directly from medical professionals.

What is “Transition”?

If you have congenital heart disease (CHD), you’ll move from the children’s heart team to the adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) team as you get older. This is called transition.
Transition isn’t just about turning 16 or 18 — it’s about learning more about your heart, building confidence, and preparing to take the lead in your own care.

For some of our younger members (12–13 years), this may be the very first time you’ve heard about “transition” — and that’s OK! This session is the perfect place to start learning.

🔍What to Expect!

This one-hour, fun and interactive game-style workshop will:
✅ Bust common myths and misinformation about transition
✅ Hear directly from medical professionals who will explain what’s fact and what’s fiction
✅ Give you and your family a safe space to ask questions
✅ Reassure you about what’s ahead — whether you’re just starting to hear about transition or are about to move into adult care.
