Due to the current Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic all of ECHO’s support, community and fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled. We share your disappointment, but as you’ll appreciate this is down to government and NHS advice. We are looking into possible dates to reschedule some of our events and will update individual event pages with any information, and keep you up to date if you have already booked on to an event. If you have any questions, please contact hello@echo-uk.org
On 11th April 2020 the 6th annual Easter Bunny Hop ride-out is taking place to raise money for ECHO – and we can’t wait.
The event began 5 years ago after Stephane Wright’s son suffered a heart attack and spent time at Evelina London, read the family’s story here. The event has grown from strength to strength – with hundreds of BMXing Bunnies expected to take part this year.
They will be BMX-ing around Central London starting from Leake Street Under Waterloo train station as usual, using a mixture of cycle paths and the roads on an 8 mile cruise taking in lots of London’s landmarks and bridges. We will, once again, be holding a bunny hop competition at the Albert Memorial which is open to all. As the route is flat this should be fine for all levels of fitness.
With your help, we can raise more funds to help continue our support to children and young people with heart conditions and their families. Why not set up your own fundraising page today?
We seriously recommend the use of cycle helmets for all, especially as some bring their children along. We cannot emphasise enough, how much care should be taken whilst navigating London’s busy roads and intersections.
Please share, invite your friends, tag them, add them to the Facebook page anyone who has been on this will tell you what an amazing and unique experience this is.
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist by cheering the riders on at different sites across London and helping to shake a bucket or two – if you’d like to help on the day please contact sinead@echo-uk.org
BMXLife have raised over £75,000 for ECHO over the last five years – an absolutely amazing amount of money. We hope this year’s Santa Cruise is a great event and thank everyone who is taking part.
You can donate to BMX’s fundraiser for ECHO here.
