You may have heard about some upcoming changes to children’s heart services within Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), and we want to reassure you of our continued support available to you and your family.
As teams across Evelina London, Royal Brompton, and Harefield Hospitals work more closely together, some families may notice changes to how services are delivered over the coming months. This could include changes to where appointments take place or where children stay if they need to be admitted to hospital.
We understand that any change to your child’s care can feel worrying or unsettling. These changes are being made to ensure services continue to meet the needs of children and families now and in the future, while maintaining high-quality, specialist care.
For over four decades, ECHO has supported families from diagnosis, through the treatment pathway, and onwards into adult services. We are here for everyone treated by GSTT and its CHD lifelong network.
Over that time, we have also supported families as services across GSTT have evolved or moved, and we have seen how strongly our community supports one another.
During this time, please remember that you are not alone. You can contact ECHO for support, join our services for free, and connect with other families who understand what you are going through. We are here to answer questions, provide information, or simply listen whenever you need us.
